PBDH Mural Begins: Submit Your Ideas

I'm officially kicking off the ideation lab mural project. We'll look at sketches and mockups before any paint hits the wall. But between now and then we need some ideas for content. The design will likely begin in the stairwell and come to full fruition on the north wall, at the bottom of the stairs. This is our creative space. Mostly I think it just needs to look amazing, as a background, textural element that creates a vibe in the space. But that doesn't mean we can't build in a little tip o' the hat to some of the things we love/believe/do/etc. Here are some starter ideas. If you have something to add, please speak now:

  • Creativity, pencils, art stuff, etc.
  • Typography and/or design symbols: Lorem Ipsom, etc.
  • Capitol Hill culture/icons
  • Seattle skyline
  • Other local stuff: mountains, evergreen forests, Puget Sound, etc.
  • Dogs
  • Cutting edge interactive design and development
  • Bikes
  • Graffiti style
  • Plants, growth, seeds, flowers, ideas, flourishing

Of course, we can't really fit ALL that in there and still have a bold graphic... I just don't want to miss the opportunity to consider something that's important to us.

Inspiration from one of my favorite local muralists, John Osgood:

I think they have that "urban" graffiti style but everything they do just looks awesome. You should ask them to do something for you.
