PBDH Develops New Identity for The RAC

January 19, 2010

Seattle, WA – January 2010 –Phinney Bischoff Design House (PBDH), a Seattle-based brand design firm, recently developed the brand strategy and identity for the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey, Washington.

A partnership between City of Lacey and Thurston County, the RAC is a 68-acre athletic complex that features five softball/baseball/fastpitch fields and six regulation-size soccer/football/rugby fields, as well as picnic and outdoor event facilities. In addition to messaging, positioning and overall brand development, PBDH created a unique and compelling identity for the RAC. The logo mark, reminiscent of classic sports team logos, is bold in its use of red and black and the geometric elements hint at familiar sports-related shapes: a baseball diamond and playing field. The tagline, Unrivaled, is incorporated into the logo mark itself and reflects how players and teams think of themselves, as well as describes the amenities and field surfaces at the RAC.

PBDH’s collaborative and inclusive approach to creative development was a perfect match for City of Lacey’s key stakeholders involved in this project.
